Related Themes: Agni Purana 79 (earlier detailed prescriptions referenced by 'yathā purā')
It teaches the ritual sequence: complete nitya and naimittika duties, then perform pavitrāropaṇa (placing sanctifying pavitras), bow, and worship Śiva specifically through the medium of the consecrated fire (agni).
It preserves precise procedural liturgy—categorizing duties (daily vs. occasional) and specifying specialized implements (pavitra) and their placement—showing the text’s manual-like coverage of temple/household worship and homa practice.
By completing obligatory rites and establishing ritual purity via pavitras, worship of Śiva in the fire is framed as a properly authorized act that enhances purification (śuddhi) and ensures the intended religious merit (puṇya) of the worship.
