Pavitrārohaṇa: Installing the Sanctifying Thread/Garland

It gives a Vāstu-based prosperity rite: at the south‑western doorway, worship Lakṣmī and install a west-facing ritual kalaśa placed on a bed of grains.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purāṇa preserves applied disciplines like Vāstu-śāstra—directional rules, threshold rites, and material arrangements (kalaśa, grains) used in domestic and temple practice.
Honoring Lakṣmī at the entrance ritually invites auspiciousness and stability of wealth; the kalaśa and grains symbolize fullness (pūrṇatā) and sustained nourishment, supporting merit and household well-being.
