FAQs

It gives a precise ritual sequence and specification: first establish the deity’s presence at the water-center, then install the yūpa, with sanctioned geometric forms (square, octagonal, or circular).

Beyond theology, it preserves practical liturgical engineering—how to place ritual focal points and how to standardize implement design (shape-geometry), reflecting the Purana’s coverage of applied ritual, construction norms, and procedural detail.

Correct placement and properly formed ritual implements are treated as essential to ritual efficacy—supporting purity, order (ṛta), and the intended sacrificial merit by aligning action with prescribed sacred procedure.
