Chapter 64 — कूपादिप्रतिष्ठाकथनं

The Account of the Consecration of Wells and Other Water-Works

FAQs

It teaches a śānti-kriyā sequence: offer barley-caru into fire, prepare/empower śānti-toya, then sprinkle it on the deity’s crown as the operative step for sajīvakaraṇa (ritual re-energizing/revivification).

It preserves procedural temple-ritual technology—specific materials (barley-caru), ritual media (consecrated water), and a named rite (sajīvakaraṇa)—showing the text’s practical coverage beyond mythology into liturgy and image-ritual maintenance.

The śānti-toya sprinkling functions as pacification and purification, intended to restore auspiciousness and ritual efficacy to the deity’s installed presence, supporting merit through correct worship and removal of inauspicious influences.
