FAQs

It gives a precise installation (vinyāsa) instruction: place Caṇḍa and Pracaṇḍa at the base of the two branches, and install Lakṣmī above on the udumbara arrangement—i.e., a concrete spatial layout for a Lakṣmī worship setup.

Beyond myth, it functions like a practical ritual manual, preserving procedural worship details (icon placement, guardian-deity positioning, sacred-tree usage) that align with temple/vrata practice—one of the Agni Purāṇa’s many applied knowledge domains.

Correct vinyāsa is treated as essential for ritual efficacy: placing guardians at the base and Lakṣmī in the elevated position symbolizes protection and auspicious sovereignty, supporting the devotee’s aim of śrī (prosperity) and purification through properly ordered worship.
