Related Themes: Agni Purana 57 (Pūjā-vidhi: kalaśa-sthāpana, mandapa-nyāsa)
It teaches kalasha-sthāpana/nyāsa in a maṇḍapa: placing additional pots at a specified position (the 81st), filling them with auspicious scented water, and ritually consecrating them through Śrī-sūkta recitation.
By preserving precise procedural details of pūjā—spatial placement, required materials, and mantra-based consecration—this chapter exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s practical, manual-like coverage of temple and domestic ritual technology alongside its many other disciplines.
Consecrating full kalaśas with the Śrī-sūkta invokes Śrī (prosperity and auspiciousness) and is understood to purify the ritual space, stabilize the rite, and generate merit through correct mantra-empowered offerings.
