Related Themes: Agni Purana 57 (upacāra, maṇḍala-vinyāsa, kalasha materials)
It teaches upacāra-vinyāsa: the prescribed placement of specific fragrant flowers, sandalwoods, mustard seed, tagara, and rice on the ritual ‘right/southern’ side during pūjā.
By cataloging precise worship materials and their spatial arrangement, it functions like a ritual manual—one of the Agni Purāṇa’s hallmark encyclopedic domains alongside law, polity, medicine, and arts.
Correct placement and offering of pure, fragrant substances is understood to enhance ritual purity (śuddhi), please the deity, and support merit (puṇya) through disciplined, rule-based worship.
