The Sanctity of Gayā: Raibhya’s Encounter and Hymn to Viṣṇu
Gadādhara

It exemplifies a common Purāṇic narrative device: a divine interlocutor confirms a request or statement (“evam astu”) and then disappears, marking a transition in the transmission of authority and knowledge within the dialogue.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the content focuses on a dialogic closure and the characterization of Raibhya as endowed with divine knowledge.
Rather than a direct ethical injunction, the verse emphasizes epistemic authority—divine affirmation and the presence of divinely grounded knowledge (divyajñāna) as a legitimizing basis for subsequent teaching or narration.
