Praise of Varāha and Pṛthivī’s Foundational Questions
धरण्युवाच। कल्पे कल्पे भवानेव मां समुद्धरते विभो। न चाहं वेद ते मूर्तिं नादिसर्गं च केशव॥ १.५ ॥

Cosmic Boar Symbolism: {"has_symbolism":true,"symbolic_interpretation":"Kalpa-by-kalpa rescue implies the Lord’s transcendence over time and his immanence as cosmic maintainer; Bhū-devī’s ignorance of ‘form’ points to the paradox of the infinite appearing in finite avatāra-forms.","yajna_varaha_imagery":"Not explicit; cyclical restoration resonates with yajña as recurring maintenance of ṛta (order) across time-cycles.","vedantic_connection":"Inquiry into mūrti and ādi-sarga aligns with tattva-vicāra: how the nirguṇa/parama reality is known through saguṇa forms and how creation proceeds without compromising divine fullness."}
Philosophical Teaching: {"has_teaching":true,"teaching_type":"cosmology + theology (questions initiating doctrine)","core_concept":"Even the Earth, repeatedly saved, seeks deeper knowledge: salvation is not only rescue but also revelation of divine nature and origins of manifestation.","practical_application":"Move from gratitude for help to inquiry into first principles; ask ‘what is the divine form/ground?’ and ‘how does creation arise?’ as part of mature devotion."}

It situates the Varāha Purāṇa within a common Purāṇic cosmology of repeating world-cycles (kalpas) and frames the text’s signature theme—Earth’s restoration—through a formal dialogue between Earth and Viṣṇu.
No specific terrestrial location is named in this verse; the focus is cosmological (kalpa cycles) rather than a particular sacred site or region.
Rather than issuing a direct moral rule, the verse foregrounds a philosophical theme: humility before cosmic processes and recognition of stewardship/restoration as a recurring responsibility within the narrative of Earth’s preservation.
