Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī
Scene: The sages petition the Devī to remain permanently; a symbolic withering of thorny shrubs/demonic forms occurs as her gaze falls, and a new shrine-marker (liṅga/śakti-pīṭha-like emblem) is established with the name ‘Kaṇṭakaśoṣiṇī’.
Divine presence is established in a sacred place for the welfare of seekers; the Goddess removes obstacles (‘thorns’) that hinder dharma.
A Devi-sthāna within Prabhāsakṣetra, praised under the epithet “Kaṇṭakaśoṣiṇī” in the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa.
No explicit rite is prescribed in this verse; it primarily establishes the deity’s abiding presence and name at the site.
