Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 31
नैव तस्य परोलोको नायं लोको दुरात्मनः । अथ चेत्प्रतिगृह्णाति ब्राह्मणो वृत्तिदुर्बलः । दशांशमर्जिताद्दद्यादेवं तत्र न हीयते
naiva tasya paroloko nāyaṃ loko durātmanaḥ | atha cetpratigṛhṇāti brāhmaṇo vṛttidurbalaḥ | daśāṃśamarjitāddadyādevaṃ tatra na hīyate
Para ese hombre de mente perversa no hay mundo venidero, ni siquiera este mundo le trae bien verdadero. Pero si un brāhmaṇa, débil en su sustento, ha de aceptar un don, que entregue la décima parte de lo que obtenga; así, en ese lugar sagrado, no sufre merma espiritual.

Scene: At Prabhāsa, a humble brāhmaṇa with sparse belongings accepts alms only out of necessity, then offers a measured tenth into a dāna-vessel before a shrine, while a darker figure symbolizes the ‘durātmā’ who clings to gain and loses both worlds.
