Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A venerable brāhmaṇa-sage, radiant with Brahmā’s boon of agelessness, arrives at Prabhāsa and consecrates a Śiva-liṅga; the sea-breeze and coastal sands frame the newly founded shrine.
A kṣetra becomes supremely holy through ṛṣi-realization and the consecration of Śiva’s liṅga.
Mārkaṇḍeyeśvara in Prabhāsakṣetra, founded through Mārkaṇḍeya’s installation of a Śiva-liṅga.
The archetypal act of pratiṣṭhā: establishing a Śiva-liṅga upon recognizing the excellence of the kṣetra.
