ईश्वर उवाच । दक्षः प्रजापतिः पूर्वं बभूव त्वत्पिता प्रिये । शतं सुतानां जज्ञेऽस्य गौरीणां दीर्घचक्षुषाम्
īśvara uvāca | dakṣaḥ prajāpatiḥ pūrvaṃ babhūva tvatpitā priye | śataṃ sutānāṃ jajñe'sya gaurīṇāṃ dīrghacakṣuṣām
Īśvara dijo: «En tiempos antiguos, Dakṣa, el Prajāpati, fue tu padre, oh amada. Le nacieron cien hijas, hermosas y de largos ojos.»
