सौदास उवाच । यैर्विना सुगतिर्नास्ति दुर्गतिं ये नयंति वै । गत्वैवं ब्रूहि तां साध्वीं मम वाक्यं द्विजोत्तम । प्रदास्यति ततो नूनं कुण्डले रत्नमंडिते
saudāsa uvāca | yairvinā sugatirnāsti durgatiṃ ye nayaṃti vai | gatvaivaṃ brūhi tāṃ sādhvīṃ mama vākyaṃ dvijottama | pradāsyati tato nūnaṃ kuṇḍale ratnamaṃḍite
Saudāsa dijo: «Aquello sin lo cual no hay su-gati (buen tránsito), y que en verdad conduce a dur-gati (mal destino): ve y dile a esa mujer virtuosa estas palabras mías, oh el mejor de los brāhmaṇas. Entonces, sin duda, te dará los pendientes engastados de joyas».
