ततो मंकणकं प्राह पश्य विप्र करान्मम । शुभ्रं भस्म विनिष्क्रांतं पश्य मे द्विज कौतुकम्
tato maṃkaṇakaṃ prāha paśya vipra karānmama | śubhraṃ bhasma viniṣkrāṃtaṃ paśya me dvija kautukam
Entonces dijo a Maṃkaṇa: «Mira, oh brāhmana: mira desde mi mano; ha surgido ceniza de blanco resplandeciente. Contempla, oh dos veces nacido, esta maravilla mía».
