समादाय पितॄंस्तर्प्य यावदग्नौ जुहोति सः । तावद्वह्निः परित्यज्य समस्तमपि भूतलम्
samādāya pitṝṃstarpya yāvadagnau juhoti saḥ | tāvadvahniḥ parityajya samastamapi bhūtalam
Tomándolo, apaciguó a los Pitṛs con la ofrenda de tarpaṇa y comenzó a verter oblaciones en el fuego; pero mientras realizaba aquellas ofrendas, el fuego, abandonando su lugar, se extendió por toda la tierra.
