एवं बहुविधं राजा स विलप्य च दुःखितः । जगाम नगराभ्याशं पद्भ्यामेव शनैःशनैः
evaṃ bahuvidhaṃ rājā sa vilapya ca duḥkhitaḥ | jagāma nagarābhyāśaṃ padbhyāmeva śanaiḥśanaiḥ
Así, lamentándose de muchas maneras y vencido por la pena, el rey se encaminó hacia las afueras de la ciudad, andando a pie, lentamente, paso a paso.
