ततस्तौ प्रोचतुः पुत्रं बाष्पगद्गदया गिरा । दंपती बहुशोकार्तौ हा पुत्र किमिदं कृतम् । सोऽपि सर्वं समाचख्यौ ताभ्यां वृतांतमात्मनः
tatastau procatuḥ putraṃ bāṣpagadgadayā girā | daṃpatī bahuśokārtau hā putra kimidaṃ kṛtam | so'pi sarvaṃ samācakhyau tābhyāṃ vṛtāṃtamātmanaḥ
Entonces el esposo y la esposa, afligidos por muchos pesares, hablaron a su hijo con voz entrecortada por las lágrimas: «¡Ay, hijo! ¿Qué es esto que has hecho?» Y él, a su vez, les contó todo: el relato completo de lo que le había sucedido.
