अथ सीता परित्यक्ता तथा भ्राता स लक्ष्मणः । यदर्थं तत्र संप्राप्तः स्वयमेव द्विजोत्तमाः
atha sītā parityaktā tathā bhrātā sa lakṣmaṇaḥ | yadarthaṃ tatra saṃprāptaḥ svayameva dvijottamāḥ
«Así, Sītā ha sido apartada, y también mi hermano Lakṣmaṇa. Por ese mismo motivo he venido aquí en persona, oh el mejor de los dos veces nacidos.»
