हा वत्स मां परित्यज्य किं त्वं संप्रस्थितो दिवम् । प्राणेष्टं भ्रातरं श्रेष्ठं सदा तव मते स्थितम्
hā vatsa māṃ parityajya kiṃ tvaṃ saṃprasthito divam | prāṇeṣṭaṃ bhrātaraṃ śreṣṭhaṃ sadā tava mate sthitam
“¡Ay, hijo querido! Dejándome atrás, ¿por qué has partido al cielo? ¡Oh, hermano excelso—amado como mi propia vida—siempre firme en tu propósito!”
