Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A vrata-observer in Kāśī at dawn: washing, combing hair, cleaning teeth, donning clean cloth; behind, the Gaṅgā ghāṭa and a distant temple spire; a subtle halo suggests inner vigilance against dark thought-forms.
True vrata is both outer and inner: cleanliness of body and belongings, and purity of thought.
The instruction is embedded in Kāśīkhaṇḍa’s sacred discourse, aligning personal purity with the holiness of Kāśī.
Daily cleaning of teeth, hair, and clothing; and mental discipline to avoid inauspicious thinking.
