श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एतदाख्यानमतुलं पुण्यं श्रुतिमुखावहम् । पुराणे यच्छ्रुतं तात तत्ते वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | etadākhyānamatulaṃ puṇyaṃ śrutimukhāvaham | purāṇe yacchrutaṃ tāta tatte vakṣyāmyaśeṣataḥ
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya dijo: «Este relato incomparable es sagrado, de gran mérito y digno de ser escuchado. Oh querido, cuanto he oído en los Purāṇas, te lo narraré ahora por completo, sin omitir nada.»
