Purification of the Worship-Space and Preparation of Ritual Vessels
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
It maps an inner yogic structure (like a lotus-base with three circles) and places above it a “seat” of three principles beginning with the Self, indicating that realization of Śiva (Pati) is approached by rightly understanding and stabilizing the fundamental inner tattvas.
The verse presents an interiorized counterpart to external worship: just as the Liṅga is a sacred support for focusing on Śiva, the “āsana” of tattvas becomes the subtle support for meditating on Saguna Śiva and, through that steadiness, moving toward deeper insight into His transcendent nature.
A contemplative practice is implied: visualize the inner lotus-base and the three circles, then establish awareness on the triad of principles beginning with the Self as a stable seat for japa and dhyāna of Śiva (e.g., with the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
