Vyāsa-pūjana-prakāra
Procedure for Worship of Vyāsa / the Ācārya
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Insistence on vidhāna (proper injunctions) implies that fruit arises when action aligns with dharma; neglect of rule is a form of tirodhāna (concealment) where results are veiled despite effort.
Role: teaching
It teaches that spiritual results arise when sacred study and worship are done correctly—aligned with scriptural injunctions and truthfulness—so the practice becomes truly efficacious and purifying.
It supports the Shaiva emphasis on saguna-upāsanā done with vidhi—such as Linga worship performed according to prescribed steps—so devotion is not merely emotional but also disciplined and spiritually productive.
Follow vidhi in Shiva worship: maintain purity, perform Linga-pūjā in the proper sequence (ācamana, dhyāna, mantra-japa, offering), and recite the Purāṇa or Panchākṣarī with sincerity and correctness.
