Genealogy of Svāyambhuva Manu and the Dhruva Episode
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights that even great tapas can be bound by pasha (bondage) when driven by krodha (anger); in Shaiva Siddhanta, true spiritual power matures into humility and Shiva-bhakti, not destructive wrath.
The verse contrasts mere ascetic power with purified devotion; Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva-upasana are presented in the Shiva Purana as disciplines that refine the heart so spiritual energy serves dharma rather than ego.
Channel austerity through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and regular Tripundra-bhasma dharana to subdue anger and align tapas with Shiva-consciousness.
