Menā’s Lament and Reproach
to the Sage
The Siddhas (Siddhāḥ)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It highlights Shiva as the Supreme Reality who becomes directly knowable through grace (kṛpā), granting darśan that leads the soul toward the highest bliss and liberation.
The verse emphasizes Saguna revelation—Shiva personally giving darśan. In Linga worship, the same compassionate Lord is approached through a sacred, accessible form, culminating in inner and outer “vision” of Shiva.
The takeaway is grace-centered devotion: approach Shiva with bhakti, japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and purity; such practice is traditionally supported by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to steady remembrance.
