Vāyu

Este breve himno invita a Vāyu, el Viento veloz, al prensado del Soma, llamándolo una y otra vez a venir en su carro resplandeciente para beber el Soma recién prensado. Vincula la correcta disposición ritual (hotrā) con la llegada de la vitalidad divina y pide a Vāyu que traiga al sacrificante abundancia, fuerza y riquezas amplias y expansivas.

Mantra 1
विहि होत्रा अवीता विपो न रायो अर्यः । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Dispón las dos ofrendas, oh auxiliador — como un vidente para las nobles plenitudes. Oh Vāyu, ven en tu carro resplandeciente al beber del Soma prensado.

निर्युवाणो अशस्तीर्नियुत्वाँ इन्द्रसारथिः । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Expulsando las falsedades, uncido a energías ordenadas, con Indra por auriga — oh Vāyu, ven en tu carro resplandeciente al beber del Soma prensado.

अनु कृष्णे वसुधिती येमाते विश्वपेशसा । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Siguiendo a los oscuros, los dos tesoros de riqueza se extienden con todas sus formas; oh Vāyu, ven en tu carro resplandeciente al beber del Soma prensado.

वहन्तु त्वा मनोयुजो युक्तासो नवतिर्नव । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Que te lleven los corceles uncidos por la mente, noventa y nueve. Oh Vāyu, ven en tu carro de fulgor lunar al beber del Soma exprimido.

वायो शतं हरीणां युवस्व पोष्याणाम् । उत वा ते सहस्रिणो रथ आ यातु पाजसा ॥
Oh Vāyu, alégrate con los cien corceles luminosos del acrecentamiento; o bien que tu carro miliforme venga aquí con su fuerza fulgurante.
