The Queens Behold Rama’s Śrāddha Offering
अद्यायमपि ते पुत्रः क्लेशानामतथोचितः।नीचानर्थ समाचारं सज्जं कर्म प्रमुञ्चतु।।2.103.7।।
adyāyam api te putraḥ kleśānām atathocitaḥ |
nīcānarthasamācāraṁ sajjaṁ karma pramuñcatu ||2.103.7||
Aun hoy, este hijo tuyo—no habituado al sufrimiento ni destinado a él—debe abandonar esta dura y degradante tarea que le ha sido impuesta.
This your son unaccustomed to, and undeserving of, any suffering may now give up this mean and distressing duty entrusted to him.
Dharma is balanced by compassion: even rightful service should not become needless suffering for one not meant to be burdened.
