The Description of the Four Durgā Mantras
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada on technical/ritual formulation)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It preserves precise traditional ratios for ritual substances, showing that purity and correctness in dravya (materials) and mātrā (measure) are part of dhārmic practice and the efficacy of anushthāna.
While not directly preaching bhakti, it supports devotional worship by standardizing the preparation of offerings (such as fragrances/pastes) used in pūjā, where careful, reverent preparation becomes an expression of devotion.
It reflects applied ritual-technical knowledge—measurement and formulation of offerings—aligned with Kalpa-style procedural precision (a Vedāṅga-associated practical discipline for rites).
