Procedure for Lamp-Offering to Hanumān
Narada (teaching ritual details within the Vedanga-oriented section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes that devotion is expressed through careful, pure, and tradition-aligned upacāras—bathing the deity, applying tilaka, and offering fragrant incense—so the worship becomes both reverent and spiritually refining.
Bhakti here is practical and embodied: the devotee lovingly serves the mūrti with specific offerings (snāna, tilaka, dhūpa), showing attentiveness and sanctity in daily worship rather than mere verbal praise.
It highlights applied ritual science—selection and preparation of worship substances (oil for abhiṣeka, jaggery-based tilaka, and resin-based dhūpa)—a technical, procedure-focused aspect aligned with the Narada Purana’s Book 1.3 orientation.
