The Description of the Worship of Rāma and Others
Rāmādi-pūjā-vidhāna
Narada (teaching mantra-vidhi within the Narada Purana’s instructional dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It emphasizes mantra-vidhi (correct procedure): for mokṣa-oriented sādhana, one should follow the prescribed order—beginning with the Lakṣmaṇa-mantra—so that Rāma-japa becomes properly grounded and effective.
Bhakti here is not merely emotion but disciplined worship: diligent japa and honoring the proper devotional sequence (Lakṣmaṇa as the devoted attendant of Rāma) are presented as integral to authentic Rāma-bhakti.
It highlights procedural correctness in recitation and practice—an applied, rule-based approach aligned with śikṣā/vyākaraṇa-style precision in sacred utterance and with mantra-śāstra norms regarding order (krama) and diligence in japa.
