Tithi-Nirṇaya for Vratas: Ekādaśī Rules, Saṅkrānti Punya-kāla, Eclipse Observances, and Prāyaścitta
Narada (teaching the Sanatkumara tradition on calendrics and auspicious timings)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It links cosmic timing (tithi–nakṣatra combinations) with dharmic outcomes, teaching that properly chosen auspicious time supports the fruit of sacred action and removes obstacles such as afflictions related to progeny.
While primarily a Jyotiṣa-based instruction, it supports bhakti indirectly by emphasizing disciplined, timely performance of devotional and Vedic rites—actions that stabilize sādhana and help remove impediments to worship.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: using nakṣatra (Jyeṣṭhā) and tithi-based considerations to determine when daytime ritual performance (karma-anuṣṭhāna) is especially auspicious.
