Śrāddha-prayoga: Niyama, Brāhmaṇa-parīkṣā, Kutapa-kāla, Tithi-nyāya, and Vaiṣṇava-phala
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that śrāddha is not merely an ancestral obligation; when performed to satisfy the Pitṛs, it becomes an indirect yet powerful worship of Viṣṇu, and the merit radiates to the entire divine order.
It frames bhakti as inclusive of dharmic duties: serving and honoring the Pitṛs with faith in śrāddha ultimately pleases Jagannātha, showing that devotion to Viṣṇu can be expressed through prescribed rites done with reverence.
It highlights kalpa (ritual procedure): correct performance of śrāddha and related offerings meant to ‘satisfy’ the Pitṛs, emphasizing disciplined rite as a means to devotional and cosmic harmony.
