Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
Sanatkumara (in discourse to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
Secondary Rasa: shanta (peace)
It teaches that liberation-oriented devotion is not only ritual; moral restraint—especially avoiding slander—and steady benevolence toward brāhmaṇas and cows are direct causes for reaching Hari’s divine abode.
Bhakti is shown as lived devotion: honoring Hari by guarding one’s speech from malice and by daily acts of protection and support for dharmic pillars—brāhmaṇas (Vedic learning) and cows (non-violence and sustenance).
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught here; the practical takeaway is dharmic discipline of speech (vāṅ-niyama) and daily social-religious duty (nitya-hita) aligned with Purāṇic ethics.
