न मत्कृते महीपाल पीडामभ्येतुमहसि । प्रयच्छ मामगस्त्याय त्राह्मात्मानं मया पित:,“राजन! आपको मेरे लिये दुःख नहीं मानना चाहिये। पिताजी! आप मुझे अगस्त्यजीकी सेवामें दे दें और मेरे द्वारा अपनी रक्षा करें”
na matkṛte mahīpāla pīḍām abhyetum arhasi | prayaccha mām agastyāya trāhi ātmānaṃ mayā pitar ||
«Oh rey, no debes cargar con el sufrimiento por mi causa. Padre, entrégame a Agastya, para que te resguardes por medio de mí—cumpliendo lo que es justo y hallando amparo bajo el cuidado de ese santo sabio».

The verse emphasizes dharma expressed as restraint and selflessness: one should not let personal attachment become a cause of another’s suffering, and one may seek protection and right conduct by placing oneself under the guidance of a revered sage.
A speaker addresses a king and also calls to his father, urging them not to grieve or suffer for his sake. He asks to be entrusted to the sage Agastya, implying that this act will secure the father’s welfare and protection through the sage’s guardianship and the merit of doing what is proper.
