वैशम्पायन उवाच
Human effort toward a worthy aim (here, the longing for a child) is significant, yet outcomes may arrive through unforeseen providence; the verse juxtaposes deliberate striving (yatna) with the sudden opening created by chance (yadṛcchayā).
Rādhā, intent on obtaining a child, continues her special efforts; at that time she unexpectedly notices a casket drifting in the river, setting up the next development in the story.
