आश्वासयजन्नुवाचेदं बलभिद् दानवार्दितम् । भयं त्यजत भद्रं व: शूरा: शस्त्राणि गृह्नत,तदनन्तर बलासुरविनाशक देवराज इन्द्रने अपनी उस सेनाको दानवोंसे पीड़ित होकर भागती देख उसे आश्वासन देते हुए कहा--'शूरवीरो! भय त्याग दो, इससे तुम्हारा मंगल होगा। हथियार उठाओ और पराक्रममें मन लगाओ। तुम्हें किसी प्रकार व्यथित नहीं होना चाहिये। इन भयंकर दिखायी देनेवाले दुराचारी दानवोंको जीतो। तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। तुम सब लोग मेरे साथ इन महाकाय दैत्योंपर टूट पड़ो।' इन्द्रकी यह बात सुनकर देवताओंको बड़ी सान्त्वना मिली
āśvāsayajann uvācedaṃ balabhid dānavārditam | bhayaṃ tyajata bhadraṃ vaḥ śūrāḥ śastrāṇi gṛhṇata ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: Entonces Indra, el matador de Bala, al ver a su hueste hostigada por los Dānavas y huyendo en la aflicción, les habló para infundirles ánimo: «Arrojad el miedo—que os sea propicio. Oh héroes, tomad vuestras armas.»
