As a colophon, the verse does not present a direct doctrinal teaching; its ethical function is structural: it closes an episode of confrontation with Yakṣas and frames the subsequent significance of Kubera’s appearance—suggesting that encounters with divine powers (including wealth and authority) are to be understood within dharmic order and narrative consequence rather than mere spectacle.
This is the formal closing line of the chapter: it states that, within Vana Parva and the Yakṣa-battle episode, the chapter dealing with the vision/meeting of Kubera has concluded, identifying it as the 161st chapter.
