Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
Bṛhaspatir uvāca mānuṣo Nahuṣo rājā devarṣi-gaṇa-tejasā | devarājyam anuprāptaḥ sarvān no bādhate bhṛśam ||
Legitimate power gained through others’ merit or spiritual force can still become destructive when driven by arrogance; dharma requires restraint and protection of others, not oppression.
Bṛhaspati reports that Nahuṣa, a human king, has obtained the rule of heaven through the potency associated with the divine seers and is now tormenting the gods, creating a crisis of order.
