Transliteration

gāvaḥ kāṃsyopadohāś ca kanyāś caiva su-alaṅkṛtāḥ

Translation

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Había vacas con vasijas de bronce para el ordeño, y también doncellas ricamente engalanadas». El verso evoca la escena de dádivas auspiciosas y ofrendas ceremoniales, y sugiere un ideal social y ético en el que la riqueza se orienta a la generosidad, la hospitalidad y el mérito, y no al acaparamiento.
