भीष्म उवाच एवमुक्तस्तु दैत्येन्द्रो बलिरिन्द्रेण भारत । जगाम दक्षिणामाशामुदीची तु पुरंदर:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--भारत! इन्द्रके ऐसा कहनेपर दैत्यराज बलि दक्षिणदिशाको चले गये और स्वयं इन्द्र उत्तरदिशाको
bhīṣma uvāca evam uktaḥ tu daityendro balir indreṇa bhārata | jagāma dakṣiṇām āśām udīcī tu puraṃdaraḥ ||
Bhīṣma dijo: «Oh Bharata, cuando Indra hubo hablado así, Bali —señor de los Daityas— partió hacia el cuadrante del sur, mientras que Purandara (Indra) mismo se dirigió hacia el norte.»
