Gratitude, Discernment, and the Escalation of Power (Śvā–Dvipī–Vyāghra–Nāga–Siṃha–Śarabha Itihāsa)
व्याप्रं दृष्टवा क्षुधाभुग्नं देष्टिणं वनगोचरम् । दडीपी जीवितरक्षार्थमृषिं शरणमेयिवान्
vyāghraṁ dṛṣṭvā kṣudhābhugnaṁ deṣṭiṇaṁ vanagocaram | dadīpī jīvitarakṣārtham ṛṣiṁ śaraṇam eyivān ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: Al ver a un tigre que merodeaba por el bosque—debilitado por el hambre y con la intención vuelta hacia la crueldad—el leopardo, para proteger su vida, volvió una vez más a refugiarse en el sabio. El episodio subraya que, cuando surgen el peligro y la depredación, aun los fuertes abandonan el orgullo y regresan al amparo del dharma y la protección.
