Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
दुर्योधनस्थ वीरस्य शरौघान् शीघ्रमस्यत: । संक्रुद्धस्यान्तकस्येव को वेगं संसहेद् रणे,'क्रोधमें भरे हुए यमराजके समान शीघ्रतापूर्वक बाणसमूहोंकी वर्षा करनेवाले वीर दुर्योधनका वेग इस युद्धमें कौन सह सकता है?
duryodhanastha vīrasya śaraughān śīghram asyataḥ | saṁkruddhasyāntakasyeva ko vegaṁ saṁsahed raṇe ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «¿Quién, en esta batalla, podría resistir el ímpetu del héroe Duryodhana—firme en su puesto, arrojando con presteza torrentes de flechas—cuando se enfurece como Antaka (la Muerte) misma?»
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how uncontrolled wrath amplifies destructive power, likening a furious warrior’s force to Death itself—an implicit ethical warning about anger’s capacity to overwhelm restraint and compassion in war.
Sañjaya describes Duryodhana in the thick of battle, firmly positioned and rapidly releasing dense volleys of arrows; his momentum is portrayed as nearly irresistible, comparable to the advance of Antaka (Death).
