Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces

The verse underscores the grave consequences of disciplined martial organization: when an army is arranged ‘according to rule’ and its missile-range is effectively controlled, even the mightiest can be endangered. Ethically, it highlights the seriousness of kṣatriya warfare—skill and formation amplify responsibility and the scale of harm.
Sañjaya describes to the listener the formidable, well-ordered Kaurava battle-array. He emphasizes its lethal arrow-range by hyperbole: even Indra would not survive if he entered that field of arrows, conveying the intensity and danger of the impending engagement.
