अकम्पत महाराज भयत्रस्तेव चाड़ना | महाराज! दौड़ते हुए पैदल सैनिकोंके पैरोंकी धमकसे यह पृथ्वी भयभीत अबलाके समान काँपने लगी
sañjaya uvāca | akampata mahārāja bhayatrastā iva cāṇḍanā | mahārāja! dhāvataḥ padātisainikānāṃ pādānāṃ dhamakena iyaṃ pṛthivī bhayabhītā abalā iva kampitum ārabdhā |
Dijo Sañjaya: Oh rey, la tierra comenzó a temblar, como si el miedo la hubiera poseído. Oh gran rey, golpeada por el estruendo de los pies de la infantería que corría, el suelo se estremeció como una mujer indefensa y aterrada; imagen que subraya la fuerza abrumadora y deshumanizadora de la guerra.
