अमोघा न्यपतन् बाणा: पितुस्ते मनुजेश्वर । नासज्जन्त शरीरेषु भीष्मचापच्युता: शरा:
amoghā nyapatan bāṇāḥ pitus te manujeśvara | nāsajjanta śarīreṣu bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutāḥ śarāḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Oh señor de los hombres, las flechas de tu padre nunca caían en vano. Los dardos soltados del arco de Bhīṣma no quedaban clavados en los cuerpos: tan veloces y poderosos eran, que los atravesaban sin ser detenidos.
