निवर्ततां च शब्दो5भूत् पूर्णस्येव महोदधे: । उनमेंसे कुछ लोग भागने लगे
nivartatāṁ ca śabdo 'bhūt pūrṇasyeva mahodadheḥ |
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Se alzó un gran bramido cuando los guerreros se volvieron atrás, profundo y creciente como el grave trueno de un océano colmado y embravecido. En aquel tumulto, unos huían, otros cargaban de nuevo y otros se apartaban del combate, revelando la confusión moral y la voluntad cambiante que la guerra engendra en los hombres.
