वस्त्रमाल्योत्करयुतो वीणावेणुमृदड्भगवान् । सुरामैरेयमिश्रेण भक्ष्यभोज्येन चैव ह
vaiśampāyana uvāca | vastramālyotkarayuto vīṇāveṇumṛdaṅgabhagavān | surāmaireyamiśreṇa bhakṣyabhojyena caiva ha ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: La gran reunión festiva parecía supremamente auspiciosa: había montones de vestidos y guirnaldas, resonaba la música de la vīṇā, la flauta y los tambores mṛdaṅga, y abundaban los manjares y las bebidas, incluidas la surā y la maireya. Se habían dispuesto mercados y puestos; las provisiones eran copiosas y el tránsito resultaba fácil en todas direcciones.
