Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
तस्मिन् वक्षे तथाभूते कोटरेषु चिरोषित: । न जहाति शुको वासं तस्य भक्त्या वनस्पते:
tasmin vakṣe tathābhūte koṭareṣu ciroṣitaḥ | na jahāti śuko vāsaṃ tasya bhaktyā vanaspateḥ ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: Cuando el árbol llegó a tal estado, un loro que había vivido largo tiempo en sus huecos no abandonó su morada. Por devoción y apego a aquel árbol, permaneció allí aun mientras se marchitaba—mostrando una lealtad y gratitud firmes que no desertan del sostén en tiempos de declive.
