Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
यत् तद् भगवता पूर्व दत्त चक्रं तवानघ । जलान्तरचरं हत्वा दैत्यं च बलगर्वितम्
yat tad bhagavatā pūrva datta cakraṁ tavānagha | jalāntaracaraṁ hatvā daityaṁ ca balagarvitam ||
Dijo Vāsudeva: «Oh intachable: ese disco que el Señor Bienaventurado te otorgó antaño—después de dar muerte al demonio orgulloso, embriagado de fuerza, que se movía en las aguas—fue forjado por el propio Vṛṣadhvaja (Śiva) y entregado a ti. Esa arma, ardiente como el fuego, posee un esplendor maravilloso y es irresistible.»
